well..Now that Band camp is over....

BY THE WAY......

Now that Band camp is over, you probably understand why we tell you its important to practice! Remeber to study your charts! thats very important!!! The Football Show charts and flag work is VERY easy compared to how hard the Competition show is going to be. Remember:

counts for flag work
1-16- Big open
1-16- Rowboat, Flutters, double to RS
1-16- Windmills
1-8- Big Extension Flutters (remember counts 4 and 7 your flag is straight up and down) 1-32- Bring Flat, circle, extension circle, Pop up, windmill toss.
1-32- Bring Flat, Dip and Angle, Turn, Extend out and bring down (straight out on 16) on 17 and 18 grab and backscratcher to flat, Cradle and present, spin out to 32
1-20- pop up, big circle with step ups, bring up and dip on 11, down on 16, bring in 17, up on 20
1-17- Drops til 4, turn and grab behind 6 and front on 8, 9-12 double fast, toss. dip and pose!

Sorry Ladies if that made no sense at all. I tried. we never really came up with names for everything but the work should be written out in your head.

Remeber that school starts on Friday and we are taking the big Band pictures! SO.....Remember your kahki shorts and your Guard T-shirts (which look absolutly beautiful!)

On Friday I will give you each 10 tickets for our carwash to sell for 6 dollars each. so if you each sell 10 tickets, you will each make 60 dollars plus what ever we have from donations at the carwash! This monay can help you pay for your uniform, shoes, Jackets, or anything else band/guard related! (Also: if you each bring in 60, the guard as a whole will make 900 dollars!!!)

Remind your friends, boyfriends, siblings, grand parents, and parents that we do have our guard shirts on sell. Long sleeved shirts are $15 dollars and the short sleeved ones are $10! so far we've made over $100 dollars on the extra shirts!! and that was just in one night!!!

Please remember everything! I hope you practice and study before school starts! Be careful (Leah! no chasing Ice Cream Trucks!!!) and don't hurt yourselfs! See you Friday!!

WinterGuard

OK guys...Winterguard is simply the ULTIMATE guard experience. its working hard every Friday night and every Saturday for hours on end perfecting a 5 minute show to music that you will perform in front of hundreds of people. you work indoors on a very annoying tarp, you perform barefoot and in uniform using flags rifles and sabres. there is no marching, no band, no drum major, just you, your guard, and the audience. Emma and I got to experience all of this last season with FUEL winterguard. it is an Independent A guard (that means we don't have anything to do with a school, its people from all over) thats High energy and HARD WORK. Our show was called Hallelujah. Here are some pictures from the season:

We have a lot to cover so read carefully!!

We have a carwash coming up on the 22nd. That's this saturday! It's at the Bilo on John sevier and you need to be there at 9:30 SHARP! It will last until 4:30. I need you girls to really push this carwash. Tell everyone about it!!! We really need to make $500!! If you can, please try to bring sponges, carwash soap (real carwash soap. Dish liquid takes the wax off the cars), and waterhoses. Those of you that were at both carwashes, you've had a total of $47.75 put straight towards your band fees for this year. That includes the $27 from the first carwash, $18.50 from the second, and $2.25 from the donation jars. Most of you haven't been to ANY carwashes, and you only have $2.25 paid on your band fees and that's not good. Remember that you must have paid at least $250 by august 11th or you will be asked to drop marching band.

We will have one more carwash after this one on saturday. It will be August 26th from 9:30 to 4:30 at the Bilo. The people there have helped the guard very much this year and I'm working on a very big thank you.

If you need you schedule changed, you need to bring it to band camp on July 31st, (the 2nd monday) and during Lunch you can walk over to Young Campus with me to have it changed. MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN MARCHING BAND!!!

I'm working on getting a picture of the uniform up. As soon at Mr. Satterfield emails me back we'll have a picture.

Band Camp is next week!!! It starts monday! IT IS MANDATORY! ALL FRESHMEN (Including vanessa) must be there monday morning at 8 AM! Upperclassmen must report any time before 1 PM.

8:30-11:30 FULL BAND REHEARSAL

1:00-3:00 FULL BAND REHEARSAL
3:00-6:00 Break. Students are Free to return home. Please stay out of the sun and in Air Conditioning during this time!
6:00-9:00 Full Rehearsal

You may bring your own water bottle to band camp. Make sure you drink WATER! coke and other drinks are dehydrating and it will be hard on you to be our in the sun without water! You may wear tank tops. just make sure you wear sunscreen. Sunglasses are also a very good Idea.

well I sure am excited! I hope you girls are too! This year is going to be great! I hope you are drinking a lot of water and working on your basics EVERYDAY! band camp is going to be hard girls!

carwash x2

Well this Carwash wasn't so hot. we get to Walmart at 9:30 and there are 2 other carwashes going on at Ruby's and *insert name of* Bank. so....we ended up with $147! thats still ok though because all you girls got $21 put into your accounts along with the $27 from the last carwash that me made $323. I hope all you girls that weren't there today will be at our next and Last carwash at the Bilo on saturday, the 22nd. were going to push this one hard, i mean calling everyone, signs all over this place, Flyers (is that spelled right? ha ha), family....Hopefully..cross your fingers, well make at least $500. so get pumped. Announce it to everyone! see you all at Conditioning on monday and then practice on tuesday!

stuff

OK so heres the deal. We ARE having our carwash on the 15th at Wallmart. you need to be there at the regular time, and NO wallmart does NOT take 10% of your profit to pay for water. thats just a rumor. Ryan will go across the street at lunch time and buy pizza so everyone needs to bring 2 dollars. if you can, Bring carwash soap. not dish liquid because it takes the wax off the cars, and your OWN towel to dry off with when we're done. wear sunscreen!!!!!

I've called everyone about the T-shirts. as soon as i hear from Adrienne, Julie, Emma, Kayla D, and Leah I'll be ordering them. so we'll get them pretty soon.

I'm Sorry to announce that we've lost two of our members. the SD guard is now down to 16 girls and I encourage all of you to come to an upperclassmen if you have a problem that you would like to talk about.
